Hi, I’m Kelli!
It’s great to meet you and I’m so glad that you’re here.
See, you and I have traveled similar paths and I so have a pretty good sense of how you’re feeling: ANXIOUS!
Because food was such a focal point and source of comfort in my family growing up, I figured it could help with my anxiety too.
Not having a clue about how else to cope and feeling way too ashamed to reach out for help, I suffered for many, many years.
Eventually, I did reach out for help. Except the help that I received wasn’t what I needed. It was attached to well-meaning clinical agendas that didn’t take the time to get to know me, my story, and what I really needed.
Sure, I tried medication, but it totally numbed me out and didn’t solve the root cause of my anxiety.
After years of struggling and looking to others to fix me, I took my mental, emotional, and physical health into my own hands and healed from the inside out through a combination of alternative, holistic, and functional health practices and lifestyle.
In other words, there’s more than one path up the mountain and the journey to the top must be enjoyable and lead to gratifying results. I have climbed the mountain and the view from the top is breathtaking!
I’m a professor turned life, weight, and functional health coach with expertise in mental and emotional health, generalized anxiety, anxious eating, hypothyroidism, menopause, weight loss, and the art and science of feeling better and living well.
I have a doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision and have trained counselors for over twenty years. I am also a certified Life and Weight Coach through The Life Coach School and an ADAPT Certified Functional Health Coach through Kresser Institute. In my private coaching practice, I teach women how to lead their minds, emotions, and behaviors compassionately so they can feel better, heal their relationship with food, love themselves fiercely, lose weight, and live well.
When I’m not teaching, coaching, and evolving into the best version of myself, you will find me hanging out with my amazing family, which includes our furry four-leggeds, reading, gardening (when it’s not winter!), and singing and dancing to old R & B in the kitchen while cooking. My favorite treats include really dark chocolate with sea salt and almond, blueberries, nuts all of kinds, anything coconut, Ben & Jerry’s Cherry Garcia, and an ice cold IPA. Life is amazing. It can be for you too! I hope you’ll join me.
